Blas de Lezo – An AI Historical Short Film
A personal cinematic project inspired by the defence of Cartagena de Indias in 1741. The film explores the story of Spanish admiral Blas de Lezo through a fully AI-assisted visual production, combining historical research, character development, environment design, animation, voice generation, sound and final editing.
I developed the project from the initial concept through to the final film, creating each character, location and sequence individually before bringing the still images to life through animation. The aim was to explore how generative tools can be used to build a consistent historical world and tell a complete cinematic story.

Behind the Process
The film was produced through an extensive shot-by-shot workflow. Historical references, character studies and environment concepts were developed into individual keyframes, which were then animated, voiced and assembled into the final edit.

From Still Image to Motion
Selected keyframes created during the visual development process. Each image was designed as a standalone cinematic composition before being animated and integrated into the film.
